Training with Industry (TWI)

Training With Industry (TWI) is a broadening opportunity offering work-experience embedded with a premier commercial enterprise/partner host for up to 12 months to competitively selected service members. This opportunity offers those selected individuals with exposure to industry practices, management industrial procedures and technical developments that cannot be replicated through traditional military education and assignments.

Those selected to participate in TWI will incur a 3 year Additional Service Obligation (ADSO) (3 days for each 1 day in the program), which will be served in a mandatory utilization assignment (minimum of 2-years served concurrently with ADSO). The utilization assignment projected for each of the following opportunities is subject to change based on Army and branch requirements. In the event of change, selected individuals will be notified of any changes as soon as realized.

One active-duty post key developmental assignment Logistics (LG)(90A) Captain will be selected to participate with the following partner hosts, reporting summer of 2027:

United Parcel Service (UPS), Atlanta, GA: The officer selected for this opportunity will gain exposure to leading innovations, techniques, and procedures associated with increasing efficiency and effectiveness of route planning and large-scale distribution operations across numerous nodes. Logistics officers with experience in Transportation positions are the primary officers considered for this opportunity. However, the opportunity is open to all active duty AOC90 officers who meet the prerequisites.

World Fuel Services (WFS): The officer selected for this opportunity will gain experience with WFS global petroleum distribution, bulk fuel storage, and manufacturing capabilities. WFS procures and distributes 36 times the amount of fuel the Army does annually. Logistics officers with experience in Quartermaster positions are the primary officers considered for this opportunity. However, the opportunity is open to all active duty AOC90 officers who meet the perquisites.
